Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, Joseph graduated from Curtin University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Graphic Design and Illustration. Shortly afterwards he worked freelance as a graphic designer and photographer, specializing in design for weddings, bands and fashion events.

In 2017 he moved to Melbourne and began volunteering on short films, which led to him studying the Foundations of Film and Television course at the Victorian College of the Arts. There he wrote and directed several of his own films and got hands-on experience in various crew roles, but found himself drawn to the art department.

After completing the course he worked freelance as a production designer, primarily on short films and music videos. He has been lucky enough to work with musicians such as Tones and I, Kira Puru, Graace, Max Frost, Mia Rodriguez and Jamie Bvllet. He has also worked with several large commercial clients including Crocs, Spotify, The Australian Greens and Godfrey’s.

More recently he has been working in the long form sphere as a set dresser. These jobs include the indie films The Girl At The Window and In God’s Care, and the TV series The Abandonned and Crazy Fun Park.
